The knife was the first tool used by man, rough, maybe just a chipped bone or a piece of flint, but in fact, it has been with us since then.
Over time it has become an increasingly evolved and important tool, today it is still the traveling companion of both the Outdoorsman and the professional soldier.
The feature that has kept unchanged since its origins, however, is not this, but its danger, the terror that is able to inspire and the scary damage that is able to inflict: a knife is not a bullet, a knife is a piece of sharp metal that takes you off a piece every time it collapses on you.
With this premise it is not possible to take lightly the knife defense, but before learning how to defend yourself you must learn to attack, only then, after understanding its capabilities, the potential damage it can inflict and the difficulty in handling it, we can begin to learn how to defend ourselves.
All of this is not possible without another important premise, namely that it is not possible to train with a fake knife.
The use of a sharp weapon with a penetrating tip is the prerequisite for a realistic handling useful to accomplish the above, but there is no way to bring a workout to term effectively, nor to develop the right mental attitude, limiting ourselves only to hitting an imaginary opponent.
“We need to train in a real way and with a mentality suitable for confrontation.”
Danilo Lajolo di Cossano – author of Knife and history of Italian martial art
Our suitably modified Mario mannequin is able to receive both the sharp cutting strokes of a real sharp knife, will be able to convey the feeling of impact and provide you with a realistic target with which to study the techniques learned from a trained instructor.
Once again TAT3D realistic and effective training tool.
